"Postmark Fragile" is an abstract oil painting about an affair of the heart conducted through mail and gifts. The rings symbolize the married status of the parties involved and how they both float in the background yet seem to tie down the heart in a restrictive manner. Nonetheless, the mail messages and packages buffer the heart, a symbol of love. This painting holds deep symbolism in that the mail and packages are confinined to the boundaries of the rings yet they also define the heart's edges - perhaps stretching it to it's limits.
The artist's signature is worked into the overall design as one of the addresses on a package in the lower right hand portion of the painting. Also incorporated into the design are the date the painting was completed and the artist's birth date.
